I am Elizabeth Kennell, London City Schools District Nurse.
I, along with my amazing support staff, care for hundreds of students in our district. We use our medical knowledge and training to protect and promote health, provide direct care to students, coordinate screenings and make referrals.
Please notify me of any acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or medications regarding your child. Medications/treatments can be given at school with parental permission and a doctor's order. We are here to be the bridge to health that helps support the goal of optimal student learning.
The mission of the London City Schools' nurse services team is to actively collaborate with families, students, staff, and community resources to promote every child's health and well-being.
To help support the mission, London City Schools employs a District Nurse who ensures proper administration of medication, and training of district personnel serves as a liaison between the schools and your child’s healthcare provider when needed, and facilitates the completion of the Ohio Department of Health and Ohio Department of Education paperwork for compliance, as well as many other tasks on a daily basis.
The District Nurse oversees three clinic aides. Each aide is trained to provide medication, diabetes care, and basic first aid, and seeks to promote student wellbeing.
