Hello everyone!
I am an ELA teacher in 6th grade. I want my students to feel like they can be themselves in my classroom, and I enjoy getting to know students through their reading and writing. I hope to challenge and encourage students, no matter where they are at. I was lucky enough to have adults who pushed and motivated me when I was a student, and that energizes me to come to school each day.
I enjoy working with middle school students, because they are at the age where they are starting to pay attention to the world and what is happening around them. So much changes over the course of the year, and it is awesome to see how students grow, and how different they are as people by the end of the year.
Outside of school, I like to watch baseball and football. This year, I have spent a lot of time hiking around parks throughout Ohio, and I try to ride my bicycle as much as I can. Both of these things help me clear my head, and allow me to see new parts of Ohio.
I look forward to getting to know my students throughout the course of this year!
