Ashley Beery

On August 16th, many Preschool students will have their official first day of school. Ashley Beery will have hers too, well sort of. Pending Board approval in early July, Mrs. Beery, who has taught in the London City School District for almost a decade, will begin her administrative career as the district’s Special Education Coordinator and the Director of the Fairhaven Learning Academy.

During her time at LCS, Mrs. Beery served as a Kindergarten teacher and most recently as the District’s Elementary Academic Coach. In her academic coaching role, Beery was responsible for the implementation of the district’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) program. As such, she helped facilitate data meetings, develop and implement strategies for improving individual student achievement, observe classroom instruction, and assist teachers in implementing best teaching practices.

In her new position, Beery will assist in the leadership of the district’s special education program, most notably, the as Director of the Fairhaven Learning Academy. The Fairhaven Preschool program is a joint venture between the London City School District, the Madison Champaign County ESC, and the Madison County Board of Developmental Disabilities. The partnership was first put in place for the 2021-2022 school year in order to expand early learning opportunities for Madison County students. Over the last two years, the school’s enrollment has grown from 140 students to well over 200 students. While the ESC is charged with operating the program, since 75% of the students are Red Raiders, London provides the day-to-day leadership. Mrs. Beery will assume the leadership role previously held by Mr. Sean Clymer, who has accepted a position in a different school district.

Mrs. Beery holds a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education and a Masters's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition, she will complete her administrative licensure in early fall. Her duties officially begin on August 1st, but she will work several days in July to assist in a successful transition into her new position. Once working in the district she will be reached at the contact information below.
