Since assuming leadership at LCS in 2016, Dr. Kramer has facilitated student advisory groups aimed at amplifying the student voice for district goals and operations. These groups, comprising students from various grade levels at both London Middle School and London High School, serve as vital conduits for soliciting feedback on the student experience while also empowering students to spearhead projects aimed at improving their schools.
One notable suggestion of the LHS advisory team led to the inception of an 8th-grade exploratory day, which was held at LHS. Based on feedback from the team, students were able to visit LHS and learn more about classes and programs before scheduling in the spring. Currently, the team is working on organizing an Athletic and Activities Fair slated for this May. The fair will showcase all co-curricular and extracurricular offerings available at LHS, with the overarching aim of fostering increased student participation.
Meanwhile, the London Middle School advisory team has embarked on two impactful projects. Firstly, in collaboration with school and district leadership, they are actively involved in laying the groundwork for the revival of the LMS play. While leadership focuses on securing a director, students are dedicated to recruiting fellow peers for participation and aiding in logistical planning to ensure the success of the production. Additionally, the team is spearheading the creation of a student-centric newspaper or podcast, spotlighting positive events and student achievements at LMS, thereby fostering a sense of community and pride among students.
