POE April Recognition

In the Spring of 2019, the London City School District published its Portrait of a Graduate, which highlights the key skills and attitudes necessary for district graduates to have success in college and careers. Our district uses the Portrait of a Graduate to help design meaningful teaching and learning experiences for our students. In a similar way during the Spring of 2022, the London City School District worked to identify and publish the most valued skills and dispositions that educators should demonstrate daily to help prepare our students to be future-ready. These skills include:

  • Effective Communication,

  • Focused on Relationship-Building,

  • Being Flexible and Adaptable,

  • Demonstrating High Integrity; and,

  • Being a role model for Life-Long Learning.

Mr. Montoya was recently recognized during the April Regular Board of Education meeting for substantially demonstrating the district’s Portrait of an Educator. Congratulations Mr. Montoya!

Nominated by a Parent

Coach Montoya has not only demonstrated exceptional expertise in the technical aspects of these sports but has also shown genuine care and dedication towards the personal development of each athlete under his guidance. His commitment to fostering a positive and supportive team environment has helped my son and his teammates grow not only as athletes but also as individuals. As Cameron says, "coach does too much to not be recognized."

Under Coach Montoya's leadership, my son has not only achieved significant improvements in his athletic performance but has also developed essential life skills such as discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. Coach Montoya's encouragement and mentorship have been instrumental in shaping my son's character and instilling in him a passion for running that I believe will stay with him for a lifetime.

I am truly grateful for the time, effort, and enthusiasm that Coach Montoya invests in his role as a coach. His dedication to the success and well-being of his athletes is commendable and deserves recognition. I am confident that his positive influence will continue to positively impact the lives of students at London schools for years to come.

Thank you for providing the opportunity for my son to benefit from Coach Montoya's exceptional coaching and mentorship. Cameron has been able to compete at the state level for outdoor track, cross country, and indoor track. This past weekend Cameron placed second (800m) in the state at age fifteen, and next weekend he will compete at the Adidas National Indoor Meet in Virginia Beach, VA for two events (800m and 1600m). He could not have accomplished those things without the guidance of a great coach.

I believe Coach Montoya exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding educator and coach, and I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for his contributions to our school community.
