During the regular November Meeting of the London City School District Board of Education, Dr. Kramer shared with the Board his annual enrollment report and school capacity study. The enrollment report aims to provide historical data that identifies trends impacting the district’s educational programs and the resources that support them. Originally published in March 2018, the report has been updated yearly to keep the district responsive to changing needs. In addition to the enrollment report, this year, Dr. Kramer and his team studied the capacity of each district school to assess how well existing facilities support current and future instructional needs and student enrollment.

In general, the district is seeing growing enrollment in both the elementary and middle schools but not in the high school. The study demonstrates that the district’s schools are currently well-equipped to handle projected enrollment within the next five years and produced several important recommendations:

  1. Continue to support flexible learning infrastructure and options;

  2. Proactively address elementary and middle school staffing and capacity needs;

  3. Monitor and adjust staffing responsibly district-wide;

  4. Expand community partnerships; and,

  5. Conduct regular data updates for enrollment projections.
