As part of a commitment to transparency and community engagement, the update below is being shared by the developer of the Johnson’s Creek Subdivision. This new residential area, currently under active construction, will be located directly across Keny Boulevard from the district’s main campus. The developer has made commendable efforts to collaborate with district leaders throughout the planning and early construction process.
London City Schools recognizes the importance of preparing for and adapting to the growth of our community. In anticipation of this development and others, the district conducted a comprehensive enrollment and capacity study in the fall of 2024. This study serves as a valuable resource for ensuring that we continue to provide outstanding educational programs and maintain exceptional facilities for our students which can be accessed here.
The following information is being shared by the developer and is not information provided by London City Schools. The information is being shared as a method for keeping district parents and community members informed.
Johnson’s Creek Subdivision was recently approved by the City of London. Johnson’s Creek is bound by the Amherst and Chevington Subdivisions to the east, Keny Boulevard to the south, and SR 38 to the west. It will be the most sought-after subdivision in Madison County because of its high-quality amenities including over 69 acres of open spaces, beautiful entry features, landscaping, buffering, ponds, sidewalks, and walking trails to mention a few. Johnson Creek will ultimately connect Eagleton Boulevard to SR 38 providing a bypass from the Amherst and Chevington Subdivisions during busy school hours on Keny Boulevard. Home sale prices will range anywhere from $450,000 to $650,000, which will benefit the home values of residents in the immediate area.
The initial phase of construction for Johnson’s Creek will include 159 single-family homes that will abut the Amherst and Chevington Subdivisions. This will include large open space areas, ponds (including an upgrade to the existing pond on the west side of the Chevington Subdivision) with fountains, and a minimum 30’ buffer adjacent to the Amherst Subdivision that will include a walking trail.
Cambell Contracting has commenced construction of the infrastructure for the initial phase of Johnson’s Creek. The first three homes, adjacent to the existing Eagleton Boulevard and Stratford Way roads, will commence vertical construction in February/March of 2025. The next 46 homes will commence vertical construction in the Spring of 2025 with construction continuing to progress as market conditions allow. Ultimately Johnson’s Creek will consist of 872 high-quality single-family homes that will be constructed over a 6 to 7-year period.
