Mr. Cooper

Donovan Cooper, a lifelong resident of London and a proud graduate of London High School’s Class of 1998, has deep roots in the community he now serves. Married to Jessica, a fellow London High School graduate from the Class of 1995, Donovan and his wife are raising their three children—Jaydon, a sophomore; Gavan, a seventh grader; and Branson Donald, a third grader—each attending a school within the London campus.

For Donovan, serving on the London City School District Board of Education is a way to give back to the community that has shaped his life and family. Donovan began working for the City of London in 1996, eventually finding his calling with the London Police Department. He is now entering his 25th year with the London Police Department, where he serves as a Sergeant. His professional background has uniquely positioned him to contribute to the district’s Safety Committee, where he leverages his expertise to ensure the security and well-being of students and staff.

During his tenure on the Board, Mr. Cooper is particularly proud of his work in fostering a safer school environment, supporting positive faculty relationships, and contributing to the campus’s growth and development. Looking to the future, Donovan is eager to help improve educational outcomes, enhance facilities to support the district’s growth, and continue providing unwavering support to teachers and staff. Outside of his Board duties, Donovan and his family enjoy traveling to attend various sporting events throughout the year.

Mr. Cooper is currently serving as the Board’s Vice President. He was first elected to the Board of Education in 2017 and is serving a four-year term, which expires at the end of this calendar year.

Thank you Mr. Cooper for your dedication to the students, staff, and school community of London City Schools!
