Mrs. Amy Gibson, London Elementary’s current Instructional Coach, will be stepping into a leadership role effective immediately while Principal Heather Mills takes a planned maternity leave of absence. During this time, Mrs. Gibson will focus on supporting instructional and communication efforts, assisting with the school improvement process, and helping to prepare LES for the 2025-2026 school year. She will not oversee teachers directly or handle teacher evaluations; those responsibilities will be shared by Mr. Ohr and the central office administration.
Mr. Ohr will continue to focus mainly on his current role of advancing the Positive Behavior Support efforts for the school but will inevitably take on an expanded role during Mrs. Mills’ absence. Together, Mrs. Gibson and Mr. Ohr will work closely to ensure a smooth transition and continued success at LES. Mrs. Gibson’s temporary role is expected to last from February through May of this year.
Mrs. Gibson joined London City Schools in 2022 and transitioned into one of the district’s new instructional coaching positions the following year. In her role as an instructional coach, she has worked directly with teachers to enhance classroom practices, lead professional development, and ensure effective use of district resources. Most recently, she has played a key role in helping the district develop a consistent and effective system of intervention. Before joining London City Schools, Mrs. Gibson served as both a classroom teacher and an elementary principal, bringing a wealth of experience to her current work.
Parents are encouraged to contact Mr. Ohr, Mrs. Gibson, or the school office with any questions or concerns during this time.
