Ryan Bower Named 2025 Jason Argonaut

London High School ninth grader Ryan Bower has been selected as London's 2025 JASON Learning Argonaut, earning the opportunity to participate in a STEM expedition to the Pacific Northwest in June 2025. Led by The Bug Chicks, Ryan and his fellow Argonauts will explore Portland, Oregon. Surrounded by volcanoes, the ocean, and the Columbia River Gorge, the team will engage in research project design, place-based problem solving, and hands-on scientific exploration to understand how the region's dynamic landscape influences ecosystems.

As part of the program, each Argonaut Team will create a Science Communication (SciComm) project to share their findings with their local communities. This experience will deepen Ryan’s understanding of design thinking and problem-solving, skills that will serve him well in future STEM endeavors.

Named after the mythical Greek explorers, the Argonaut program provides one middle school or high school student and one teacher each year the opportunity to work with students and scientists from across the country to learn more about Design Thinking, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.

London City Schools and JASON Learning have partnered on the Argonaut program for the last six years.
