Fifth-grade students at London Elementary School are already hitting the right notes for a successful musical journey. These budding musicians begin their day at London Middle School, learning the fundamentals of playing instruments under the guidance of the district’s new band director, Ryan Freeman. After their morning session, they are transported back to London Elementary to continue their regular classes.
Starting band in the 5th grade offers a significant advantage, allowing students to develop skills gradually and gain confidence before entering more advanced middle and high school ensembles. By beginning each day with focused practice, the students are developing discipline and habits that will serve them well in future performances.
As the program grows under Freeman's direction, the district is excited to see these young musicians progress. London City Schools looks forward to future concerts, where the hard work and dedication of these students will shine!
