District artists, musicians, and this year, scientists, will showcase their talents as part of the District’s Annual Fine Arts Festival on Saturday, April 6th. London will host a variety of events including musical performances and interactive activities hosted by the FFA beginning at noon and lasting until 4 pm.
A new addition to the festival this year will be a showcase of the district’s entries into the #STEMdrivesOhio Design Challenge. Each year, the Ohio STEM Learning Network hosts a design challenge where students collaborate to create workable solutions to key issues facing our communities. This year the challenge centered on "How might you re-imagine mobility in your community to increase your community's happiness and well-being?"
This is the first year students from London have participated. Each school recruited students to participate and held planning events over the last few months in order to prepare. Teams from each school will use the Fine Arts Festival in order to present their solutions to an authentic audience and get feedback. During the showcase, students will share their solutions and answer questions. After the showcase, a panel of judges will select one LCS student team to represent the district at the Ohio STEM Learning Network state showcase.
