Two local businesses have partnered to “kick off their shoes” to provide resources to London City Schools free student store. Shoe Sensation and Casey’s Carry Out have partnered to donate 42 pairs of shoes to the Raider Rack for needy students. In addition, Shoe Sensation is providing 10 and 20% off cards to the school to be shared with families. The donation was orchestrated by Mayor Pat Closser, who also owns Casey’s Carry Out.
The shoe donation is the second recent donation to the store’s inventory. Cypress Church, which leases LHS for services each Sunday, made a significant donation of winter coats recently. This is the second year the church has made such a donation in order to support district students.
The Raider Rack is London City Schools free store, which provides clothing, shoes, and apparel for district students in need. Although the flagship store is located on the second floor of London Elementary School, smaller stores have been established at both LMS and LHS this year. Over 5,000 items have been distributed to London students since the store opened in 2017. The store is sustained by community donations of money and clothing.
