In order to celebrate the grand reopening of its local Travel Center, the Pilot Company is giving back to the London community by supporting district STEAM programs. Representatives from Pilot contacted the district during the summer for possible participation in the Give Back program. Ultimately, the district applied for grant funding to support the purchase of eight new 3D printers, which are used to enhance student learning and engagement.
The grant was approved and monies were received in September. Training is ramping up for staff use and the printers have already been used to support learning projects in Spanish and History. Dia de Muertos projects are featured below.
As a way of saying thank you and helping a local business partner celebrate, LCS leadership will participate in the ceremonial reopening of the Travel Center, which is located at 1365 State Route 42 NE. The reopening is scheduled for Friday, November 18th at 10 am.
