The 2023 County Spelling Bee took place earlier this month at Tolles Career & Technology Center, and London Middle School can "spell" a winner! 8th-grader Kolby Thoman took the top honors for his grade level and was the county's overall winner. This is Kolby's third year competing in the county spelling bee. Last year, as a 7th-grader, he also took top honors for his grade level.
The county spelling bee has two parts, both written and oral. At this year's competition, 58 students represented seven schools from five districts competed. Also representing London Middle School this year were 8th-grade students Cooper Hudson-Love, Ashley Noland, and 7th-grade student Chloe Spring.
