The London City School District is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Ryan Freeman as the district’s new Middle School and High School Instrumental Music Teacher and Band Director, pending formal Board of Education approval later this month.
Mr. Freeman was chosen from a pool of well-qualified applicants following the resignation of Mrs. Amanda Gwinn, who served the district in the same position for eight years. Mr. Freeman stood out as an exceptional candidate due to his prior academic and professional experiences and his outstanding performance during two rounds of interviews, including directing a small ensemble of LHS students in a mock band rehearsal.
A graduate of Kent State University, Mr. Freeman completed his student teaching and long-term substitute teaching experience in the Shaker Heights City School District. He also completed an additional long-term substitute position with the Nordonia Hills City Schools.
Mr. Freeman will begin meeting with students immediately and will lead the Pride of London in the Fourth of July Holiday Parade. We are excited to welcome him to our district and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our music program.
