School Safety

The London City School District, in collaboration with the London Police Department, recently investigated an alleged threat involving a student and London Middle School. The threat, which was reportedly shared on social media, suggested that a weapon would be brought to the school. Upon receiving the report, both school officials and law enforcement conducted a thorough investigation, in and outside the school, and determined that the threat lacked credibility.

Earlier today, a fake social media account emerged, posting a spoofed version of the original alleged threat. A screenshot of this post quickly circulated among students and adults. However, after careful review, the police department and the school district have found no credible or actionable evidence to suggest any actual threat to the safety of our students or schools exists.

We are grateful to the students, parents, staff, and community members who promptly reported these concerns, which helped us swiftly debunk the false claims. Ensuring the safety and security of our students remains our top priority, and we will continue to work closely with law enforcement to maintain a safe school environment.
