On Friday, September 6th, London City Schools celebrated several special groups before the football game against Richmond High School. The district honored the JJ Hartley Board and individuals who played a pivotal role in the development of the Field of Dreams, now known as the JJ Hartley Athletic Complex. This recognition marked the 25th anniversary of the first football game held in the stadium on September 3rd, 1999, as well as the dedication of the JJ Hartley Complex and Bowlus Field.
In addition, the school recognized the 1994 and 1999 football teams. The 1994 team achieved an impressive 9-1 season, winning the Buckeye Athletic Conference and securing a regional title, which earned them a spot in the State Final Four. The 1999 team was also honored as the first to play in the newly built stadium, completing a perfect 10-0 season and achieving a #5 ranking in the Division III state poll.
