During the Fall, the London City School District and Madison County Public Health partnered to expand nursing services in the district in order to better support the health needs of district students. Elizabeth Kennell was recently onboarded and will work primarily in the elementary school. Elizabeth’s addition to the district means LCS can provide a registered nurse or nurse aide in each school building, everyday.
Mrs. Kennell worked for a number of years as a NICU nurse at Dayton Children’s Hospital and most recently in London at Saint Patrick’s School. Elizabeth and her husband live at Choctaw Lake and have three children who attend London Schools.
The district used state success and wellness funds in order to provide these additional services. When asked about the additional services Dr. Kramer stated, “Learning doesn’t occur if students do not feel well or well cared for. When additional state funding became available, it was very easy to partner with Madison County Public Health to provide these additional services for our students and families.”
