London High School students recently attended the Second Annual Central Ohio Healthcare Summit at The Ohio Expo Center’s Lausche Building, joining over 2,000 students from 43 high schools. Hosted by the Healthcare Career Collaborative of Central Ohio (HCCOCO) and powered by Aspyr, the event featured leading healthcare organizations, including Mount Carmel Health System, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, OhioHealth, and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Designed to connect students with in-demand healthcare careers, the summit offered hands-on experiences and career guidance from industry professionals.

Students engaged in 20 hands-on healthcare demonstrations, working alongside respiratory therapists, radiologic technologists, surgical technologists, medical assistants, medical laboratory technicians, and registered nurses. They explored various healthcare pathways, from patient care to advanced medical technology, while also receiving career advice from human resource specialists and healthcare mentors. These interactive stations, supported by regional healthcare education programs, provided students with valuable insight into potential career opportunities.

In partnership with the Education Service Center of Central Ohio, the summit also introduced students to summer exploration camps, work-based learning positions, and job opportunities. By connecting directly with healthcare professionals and educators, London High School students gained a deeper understanding of career options in the medical field, helping them take the next steps toward a future in healthcare.
