Recently, the Board of Education approved a resolution that allows Non-Bachelor Degree substitute teachers the opportunity to substitute teach under specific circumstances. Specifically, non-Bachelor Degree candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent diploma, participate in a formal interview/selection process, and complete a substitute orientation training approved and/or provided by the district to fulfill the educational requirement. An Associate’s Degree or two years of post-secondary coursework is preferred but not required.
Any individual interested in teaching who meets these criteria or possesses a Bachelor’s Degree and is interested in becoming a substitute teacher for the district should contact the Central Office for more information.
